Malaysia Take-Home Salary Calculator

Estimate your monthly take-home pay as a Malaysian private-sector employee — your gross salary after the employee EPF share, SOCSO, EIS and estimated monthly tax (PCB).

EPF (employee)− RM 550.00
SOCSO + EIS (employee)− RM 35.00
Estimated monthly tax (PCB)− RM 110.00
Total monthly deductionsRM 695.00
Net monthly take-homeRM 4,305.00
Net annual take-homeRM 51,660.00

Planning estimate for a resident private-sector employee (YA 2024). EPF is the employee share only (default 11%); SOCSO and EIS are capped at the RM6,000 wage ceiling. The monthly tax (PCB) is approximated by annualising your income tax — LHDN's actual MTD formula uses stepped tables, monthly rebates and TP1/TP3 adjustments, so your payslip figure will differ. Only the self relief (RM9,000) and the capped EPF relief (RM4,000) are applied automatically — add life insurance, lifestyle, spouse and child reliefs under "Other annual reliefs" for a closer figure. Confirm on the LHDN e-Filing portal.

How to use

  1. Enter your monthly gross salary (basic pay plus fixed allowances).
  2. Adjust your EPF employee rate if it is not the standard 11%.
  3. Add any other annual tax reliefs to sharpen the PCB estimate.
  4. Read your net monthly and annual take-home pay.

Frequently asked questions

What is deducted from my salary in Malaysia?

A private-sector employee's payslip is reduced by four things: the employee EPF (KWSP) contribution — normally 11% of wages; SOCSO and EIS (PERKESO), both capped at a RM6,000 monthly insured-wage ceiling; and PCB (Potongan Cukai Bulanan), the monthly income-tax deduction. Employer contributions are paid on top and are not deducted from your pay.

How accurate is the PCB (monthly tax) figure?

It is a planning estimate. This tool annualises your salary, applies the self relief (RM9,000) and the capped EPF relief (RM4,000), computes the yearly tax and divides by 12. LHDN's official MTD formula instead uses stepped tables, a built-in monthly rebate and TP1/TP3 adjustments for your actual reliefs, so your real payslip PCB will differ — usually by a small amount. Add your other reliefs in the field provided to get closer.

Is the EPF shown here the full contribution?

No — the deduction shown is only the employee share (11%). Your employer adds a further 12% or 13% on top, which goes into your EPF account but is not taken out of your salary. Use the EPF calculator to see both sides.

Does this include bonus or overtime?

No. Enter your regular monthly gross (basic plus fixed allowances). Bonuses are taxed and have EPF deducted in the month they are paid, which pushes that month's PCB higher, so a one-off bonus month will not match this steady-state estimate.
